Jason Kidd & Elvis Dumervil Arrested

Newest athlete arrests: Kidd & Dumervil

Two big arrests took place last night, as Denver Broncos star Elvis Dumervil was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a with a firearm in Miami on Saturday night, and newly acquired New York Knicks guard Jason Kidd was arrested early Sunday and charged with a misdemeanor of driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons. Dumervil was released from jail Saturday after he posted $7,500 bond.  There are no other details regarding what led to the arrest, but if the charges stick Dumervil could face up to five years in prison if convicted, according to Florida law.

Kidd was involved in a single-car accident in which his 2010 Cadillac Escalade hit a telephone pole and went into the woods in hamlet of Water Mill, a residential community east of Southampton Village, at around 2 a.m. He was transferred to police headquarters to be processed, and then released on his own recognizance. Kidd suffered minor injuries and has pleaded not guilty to DWI, awaiting further court proceedings. The DWI charge carries the potential for up to a year in jail.

I guess we will see how these cases play out, and if either of these stars will miss any times with their respective teams.
