Penn State Upset in Season Opener by Ohio
Happy Valley? Not very often this season. The Post-Joe Paterno Era got off to a rough with Saturday’s season opening loss to Ohio 24-14.No, not Ohio State but rather the Ohio University from the Mid-American Conference.
It only gets tougher from here. And it’s been pretty tough already.
The Nittany Lions blew an 11-point halftime lead as Ohio quarterback Tyler Tettleton threw and ran for three second-half touchdowns to hand first year Head Coach Bill O’Brien a 24-14 loss in his debut as Penn State head coach.
Matt McGloin threw for 260 yards and 2 Touchdowns in the new Penn State offense.
“We are … Penn State,” the anxious crowd roared in the fourth quarter, their team trailing by three showing that the spirit is still alive in Happy Valley.
